Steinn Sigurðsson Astro 475(W) 1 Fall 2011

The class will be run as a topic oriented seminar class, exploring a range of current and open issues dealing with:

• stellar populations,
• star formation, binarity
• stellar groups, associations and clusters,
• the Milky Way,
• the Local Group
• and galaxies in general.

Topics and reading material will be put up on the class web page some time before, or after, class.

You should now be reading chapters 1 and 2 in "Galaxies...".
