Flight Calibration Sources

In order to calibrate the energy response of the instrument in flight and to monitor radiation damage to the CCDs, which shows up as decreased CTE (charge transfer efficiency), the camera contains four small Fe sources. These are installed in the CCD holder over small holes that permit them to illuminate all four corners of both CCDs. This will permit us to monitor changes in the system gain and CTE.
