Unregulated power from the power bus is used to operate our camera door heaters. All other payload functions use regulated power. High efficiency switching regulators are used to provide primary power sources, with linear regulators providing quiet power where required. DC/DC converters and latching relays are located in the CUBIC Power Supply Box. Linear regulators are distributed to the extent possible to minimize voltage drops and ground loop problems.
Experiment internal power is turned on by redundant latching relays in the SAC-B \ Power Distribution Unit. These relays are controlled by independent telecommands.
