A block of science data begins with a Science Data Header. The Science Data Header is physically stored in the Auxiliary RAM and therefore does not have any ECC codes associated with it. However, it will have Synch Words embedded in it (last two bytes of every 512 byte block written to the FIFO).

Bit assignments for the science data header are given in Tables 31--33. Complete details of the Science Data Header formats are provided in the CUBIC Flight Software Reference.

The Error Flags in the Science Data Header are designed to provide indication of processing errors encountered by the ICP software. These 8 bit Error Flags are listed in Table 34. Complete Documentation on the error codes for these flags is given in the CUBIC Flight Software Reference.
