SNR 1987A

The first images of SNR 1987A with Chandra/ACIS . This is a composite of two images, taken in October 1999 (blue) and January 2000 (yellow/red). The remnant is about 1.5 arcseconds in diameter, which corresponds to about 1 lightyear. The details of these observations have been published by
